Honestly….hands down, I say Science Diet. You can get it from any pet store like PetSmart (www.petsmart.com). Alot of people don’t know that alot of dog food out there is equivalent to giving your pet McDonald’s everyday. No nutritional value at all. All animals are different though. My Boxer and AmStaff love anything you put in front of them. But trust me, Science Diet is best. Also, another dog food my vet told me was NutraMax. NutraMax also helps their poo be less stinky and messy. It may be a little more costly than some dog foods but should be in same comparison as Science Diet. It makes both of my dogs coats nice, healthy and shiny.

My cats and dogs get BLUE BUFFALO. It’s holistic and has no fillers, preservatives or by-products. There are no complaints in the taste department. My lab gets large breed, my min pin gets small breed and my cats get indoor. All of the coats improved tremendously once on this food.
It is pricey for my lab, however because the min pin and cats eat such small amounts, it’s not too bad. I buy it at Petsmart, but I believe you can order online.
As for how much you feed, you will have to determine this by weight and go from there. If you are feeding a half a cup a day and he is over or underweight, you can adjust. You should be able to easily feel the ribs without seeing them. All dogs have different metabolisms so there isn’t really a good standard. Don’t follow what’s on the bag, it will get a fat dog. I feed all of my animals small amounts twice a day to help satisfy their hunger.
I can’t imagine another product I would use, and I researched for a long time.
