20th annual Buffalo Car Show winners are announced

A total of 75 cars, trucks and motorcycles were displayed Saturday at the 20th annual Dallas County Car Show, held Saturday at the Eagle Machine Shop in Buffalo. Sponsor of the event was the Dallas County Car Club.

Charles Stark, president of the club, said club members were pleased with the turnout. Proceeds from the event will be donated to charity. Stark said approximately $1,500 will be donated, with much of that going to Heart 2 Heart Ministries.

He said the people came from the longest distance for the event were the Shipley Family, of Adrian. They won $50, but donated it back to the club.

Car show winners were as follows:

Class 1: 1900-1950 Original Cars

First, John MacGowan, Fair Grove, 1940 Ford Deluxe; Second, Jim Kendzora, Climax Springs, 1930 Chevy Roadster; Third, Otis Morgan, Fair Play, 1950 Ford 2-door custom.

Class 2: 1951-1965 Original Cars

First, Jack Brumley, Tuscumbia, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500; Second, Morris McGregor, Buffalo, 1952 Chevy Deluxe; Third, Page Pukett, Wheatland, 1957 Chevy Bel Air.

Class 3: 1966-1990 Original Cars

First, Joyce Brumley, Tuscumbia, 1971 Dodge Charger; Second, Alan Ratliff, Springfield, 1973 Javelin AMX; Third, Greg Armstrong, Buffalo, 1967 Oldsmobile Cutless.

Class 4: 1900-1940 Street Road Cars

First, Joe and Shirley Cockran, Hermitage, 1932 Chevy Sedan, 2-door; Second, Wayne and Braden Alexander, Richland, 1934 Ford Phaeton; Third, Ernie and Charlotte DaMitz, Cross Timbers, 1938 Chevy Tudor Sedan.

Class 5: 1900-1950 Modified Cars

First, Larry Rice, 1929 Ford Deluxe Delivery.

Class 6: 1951-1965 Modified Cars

First, Harry Wilkinson, 1955 Chevy Bel-Air; Second, Ray Bolin, Long Lane, 1957 Chevy Bel-Air; Third, Shorty Hampton, Wheatland, 1958 Ford Ranchero.

Class 7: 1966-1990 Modified Cars.

First, Jeff Miller, Hermitage, 1968 Chevy Camaro SS; Second, Leon Spence, Tunas, 1967 Ford Mustang; Third, Don Trantham, Elkland, 1972 Chevy Nova.

Class 8: 1991-Present Modified Cars

Class 9: 1900-1950 Original Trucks

Owner’s Description : Very rare and beautiful 1930 Chevrolet 4 door sedan. I have owned this car for 29 yrs and it has always been kept in the garage. It is 99.99% complete and is solid with no rust. The car had an off frame restoration that was done perfectly just before I bought it. It has a 1968-70 250 6cyc. and a turbo 350 trans with a 10 bolt rear end. It was built to be a very good driver. It has factory gauges, floorboards, shocks, seats and everything on the car works as it should. Its time for new paint and a little TLC.
