Gok Wan Through Thick and Thin
I recently watched an interview with Gok Wan on The One Show and was really impressed by him. I have to be honest I have never really paid a lot of attention to him in the past other than being aware of his shows and his work with Simply Yours. But after seeing him on The One Show and hearing him talk about his life and autobiography Through Thick and Thin I though I would find out a bit more about him.

Gok Wan has worked in the fashion industry for the best part of a decade. He found the fashion industry including hair and make up more inspiring than drama. Since, Gok has used his gift for making women feel more confident within themselves in TV shows such as ‘How to Look Good Naked’, ‘Fashion Fix’, and ‘How to look good naked with a difference’. Gok Wan is now making a new show called Gok’s Teens which will be aired towards the end of 2011. This show will be a four-part series where he will draw on his personal experience to help give teen contributors the advice, confidence and self belief they need to tackle their issues and anxieties. Gok’s Teens will be in a documentary style providing an opportunity for Britain’s teenagers to talk honestly amongst themselves and with adults about their bodies.
Gok Wan’s autobiography Through Thick and Thin talks openly about his time as a teen and how he reinvented himself with his first style makeover and a larger-than-life personality to go with it. The book looks at how he lost a devastating ten stone in nine months and then went on to be a stylist to the stars and household name. In ‘ Through Thick and Thin’ , for the first time, Gok reveals all about that life changing period.
