At Akron’s Lock 4 Stage. The series, called “Lockbottom Blues & Jazz Club,” will take place every Wednesday evening for the rest of the summer. “The response we received to just four concerts at Lock 4 last summer was overwhelming,” says Dave Lieberth, Akron’s Deputy Mayor. “Lock 4 is a beautiful setting, the food is great, and people love the music.”Due to the popularity of last year’s shows, this year’s schedule has been expanded. Food will be available for purchase from Urban Eats—the café at Musica. “When it comes to food, decorative arts, and POP culture we believe ART IS LOVE,” says general manager Elizabeth Tyran. Chef Jason Scala and his team will select menus to match the music. Windows and doors that face Lock 4 will be spruced up by arts apprentices in the Lock 3 Summer Arts Experience Program. They’ll use trompe-l’oeil techniques to depict various scenes.
Lock 4 is under Bowery Street, adjacent to Lock 3. It’s connected directly to the Cascade Parking Garage, which provides direct access from level 2. Patrons may also enter Lock 4 via walkways from Bowery Street and Lock 3. “This is exciting space in Downtown,” says Lieberth. “The rushing water of the canal creates multiple water falls through Lock 4 that along with the historic brick facades of some of the oldest buildings in the city give the space a distinctly urban feel.

By leaving out the plastic bezel and holding it in place in the tailgate, you can get a visual read on how far to spread the arms.
