The company already is paying a $7,500 fine for illegal disposal of asbestos inside aging trailers at the park.

The new order addresses violations dating back to 2005 regarding the park’s public drinking water supply, according to Kevin Baskins, spokesperson for Iowa’s Department of Natural Resources.

The DNR issued notices of violation due to high levels of bacteria, lead, copper and radium in the water and lack of public notice about those levels.

The DNR also issued notices to Regency for not following monitoring and reporting schedules, and for permit violations.

Regency agreed to complete all construction on improvements at its drinking water treatment facility and to operate the facility in accordance with its water supply operations permit.
